It is one of the great forgotten disasters of history; on January 20th 1607 the west coast of Britain was devastated by a giant killer wave, resulting in 2,000 deaths. At the time it was seen as an act of God. More recently it has been dismissed as simply a freak storm. But new research and exhaustive re-examination of evidence is prompting two scientists to conclude that the killer wave of 1607 was actually a tsunami. Professor of Geography Simon Haslett and Australian tsunami expert Ted Bryant come together to make sense of the 1607 disaster.
