From pigtails to pills, innocence to heartbreak, and rainbows to rejections, this portrait of the original diva includes film clips and interviews with some of the supporting cast of Garland"s life: acting buddie Mickey Rooney, screen legends Lauren Bacall and Janet Leigh, and singer Tony Bennett. Born Francis Gumm in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Judy Garland went from a legendary child star to a victim of stardom. The pressures from her mother and MGM took their toll on her, and after an intensely rocky life and career, she died at the age of 47 - the same day a tornado hit Kansas.
